A to Z of COPING FOR KIDS
The Hampshire CAMHS ‘A to Z of coping strategies’ includes 26 ideas, strategies, and techniques to help a young person to cope better if they are experiencing stresses and pressures which are making them feel in crisis or at risk of self-harming. This project was completed in collaboration with the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Commission and Hampshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
BIG TALKS FOR LITTLE PEOPLE
The Big Talks for Little People Mental Health Classroom Module is a primary school kit that aims to help school students better understand their mental health and enhance their well-being. This booklet provides a theoretical background to program constructs and includes suggested activities for six lessons of 35-40 minutes each. The program comprises six lessons incorporating six topics on mental health for young children.

ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Often during a disaster, to be safe it is important to have everyone stay at home. This is particularly so during a pandemic such as the coronavirus pandemic. Parents are often at a loss as to how to help their children deal with boredom and the inability to go outside. Karen Wood Peyton has written a useful book called: Families on the Home Front: Activities to encourage your child’s Development and growth during a Pandemic. The book is available free on Amazon. This book contains over 100 activities you can do with your children.
The book is divided into 9 sections:

1- Social Activities Around the Home (e.g. Have a family game night; Have a family costume party).

2- Gross Motor Activities Around the House (e.g. have a family scavenger hunt; Have a family workout).

3- Fine Motor Activities Around the House (e.g. Play Board Games; Play with Blocks).

4- Fun Food Activities (e.g. Do a Blind Taste Test; Host an International Dinner Night).

5- Learning Time (e.g. Organize a Show and Tell; Go to the “Museum”).
